1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 289 4 barrel A/T A/C This restoration was just finished, the restoration of a very clean, rust free California Mustang, it still has its original quarter panels, floor pans, doors, fenders. The paint is Poppy Red which is the factory color and it has the factory Black standard interior. The engine is the 289 “C” code which came with a two barrel carburetor but it now has a Holley four barrel carburetor with aluminum intake. The engine has been rebuilt with a mild cam. It has had new water pump, fuel pump, belts, radiator hose’s, starter, new 4 flew HD radiator for air-condition, new A/C compressor, new condenser and dryer and the A/C is cold! It also has the 6 blade a/c fan with new fan clutch. All of the sending units were replaced to include oil, temp, gas tank sending unit and new plug wires, distributor cap, battery cables, battery, new chrome valve covers, chrome oil cap and chrome air cleaner. The engine runs great and I have driven it town and on the interstate with the A/C running and it did not run hot. Transmission has been rebuilt, shifts great. It has new front and rear shocks and the brakes where rebuilt to include new master cylinder and new front and rear flex brake lines and wheel cylinders and shoes. The wheels are American Racing 17x7 on the front and 17x8 on rear and the tires are Cooper Zeon 255/40/R17 on rear and 215/45/R17 on front. The front suspension has been check over and it has had lower control arms, strut rod bushings, idler arm bushing, sway bar end links, upper ball joints replaced. The front end is great, and the steering box was adjusted and it drives straight- stops great. The exhaust system is duals with factory style mufflers with chrome tips and they are not loud. Interior has been restored, it has new carpet, seat covers, inside door handles and window handles with new kick panels, scuff plates, door panels, arm rest pads and bases, dash pad, sunvisors, instrument cluster bezel, new am/fm cassette radio with speakers in kick panels and dual speaker in dash. The glove box liner was also replaced. It has a new windshield and gasket and new headliner and wind lace. The rear glass has a new gasket also. The roof rail weather stripping and door w/stripping, trunk, beltliners, hood to cowl seal have been replaced. Even the inside door handles and window handles and steering wheel were replaced. The interior is just great! The body is very nice and it has had new Bumpers front and rear, bumper guards front and rear, tail light doors, gas cap, trunk lock bezel, 289 emblems, Mustang 2 plus 2 emblems, hood letters, radio antenna. New gas tank and filler hose along with new trunk mat. The restoration of a good solid body and a great California body makes this car very hard to fine and yes it does have the original data plate on the door and over all the car match’s the numbers except for the 4 barrel carburetor. The information on the data plate does not show what transmission came in the car. I have available a set of 14X7 1965 style steel wheels with new center caps that can be exchanged for the American Racing wheels and tires. The tires would be additional cost of $390.00 for BFGoodrich 205/70/R14 T/A radials. I have installed a set of 14X7 1965 style steel wheels with new center caps that can be exchanged for the American Racing wheels and tires. The tires are Goodyear radials raised white letter GT-II’s 215/70/14. Only one set of tires and wheels go with the car, you pick out what set you want.
